I'm Graeme Henderson, The Life Skills Therapy Guy. With twenty years of experience, I offer counselling, sound therapy and relaxation sessions in Glasgow to support people like you work through challenging life situations.

 

Are you stressed, burnt out or depressed? Lost your mojo? Flying off the handle over the slightest thing? Have you drifted into a fog and you can't see a way out? Are you finding work-life balance hard? Do you need to talk through a carefully-guarded trauma or difficult childhood experience with someone you can trust?

 

These are just a few examples of life's challenges that we may struggle to turn around on our own. That's where I come in with therapies that can help.

Getting the right help

Things can often get pretty uncomfortable in our lives before we decide to do something about it. The fact that you are browsing the internet to find a therapist means there are probably things happening in your life that are more difficult than you typically take in your stride. 

 

Perhaps you have tried self-help books, talking to friends, or even working with other therapists. Something is still missing. That certain connection, insight, understanding or support that could make a difference. It feels like something still needs to click into place.​

It's not always easy to find the right help so I have put a lot into this website to show that I mean business when it comes to supporting you.

A great mix of skills

As the Life Skills Therapy Guy, I have a unique mix of skills, experience and character that make therapy with me meaningful, worthwhile and effective. I offer an environment that is open, non-judgemental, responsive and encouraging.

Even if you are not super stressed, you may still be clear that something needs to change. You may want to:

  • feel better

  • be more like your “old self”

  • have better relationships with yourself and others

  • move on from your past

 

Perhaps you are still not really that clear what it is you do actually want, and that's OK too. Counselling and sound therapy can help you work that out.

 

I also offer focused relaxation sessions as part of therapy sessions or as a stand-alone treatment.

Who do I work with?

I work with adults from all walks of life seeking support for a range of challenges, from anxiety to grief, trauma to workplace stress, relationship breakdown to workplace conflict and much more. But you probably just want to know you can get through this, whatever “this” is, and feel reassured that there is someone out there who can help you do that. So, whatever “this” is, I can help you mange things better and move forward.

 

The bottom line is that you already have all the tools you need to make positive changes. It is my job to help you:

  • understand your situation clearly and honestly

  • understand yourself better, warts and all

  • take time out specifically for YOU!

  • reboot your life skills to be able to handle whatever life throws at you

  • shift gears so you move from existing to living, and even to THRIVING!

 

There may never be a better time to work with me. Together we will strengthen your resilience and life skills so you can boost your mental health and wellbeing and make changes that last.

Committed to supporting you

Therapy can be challenging, and I don’t pretend otherwise, but it can also be rewarding and help you make a significant positive difference. I will always respect your needs and work with care. I am heartful and compassionate, thoughtful and dependable.

 

Over the years, I have not stopped learning and growing and this is reflected in how I work today compared to earlier in my career. I chose The Life Skills Therapy Guy specifically to reflect who I am as a person and how I work.

 

Be under no illusions about me – I have not been immune to life’s challenges. I certainly don’t underestimate what it takes to change! I understand how, at times, life can feel like a relentless grind.

 

Understand this, though: when the chips are down, I will be there for you, in your corner, rooting for you even if you feel it is hopeless. I will sit with you when it hurts and be there in our sessions for you to lean on while you find your way. I am committed to your cause, whatever that may be.

 

And remember – I will also help you recognise and celebrate your wins (and there will be wins), however small they may seem to you and however difficult that may be for you to do.
